2010-004-Cardio - 2010 Cardiothoracic Imaging Update in Montréal
Overview
This weekend course is scheduled to coincide with the International Jazz Festival in Montréal (opening weekend). This three-day course is intended to provide a comprehensive review of Thoracic Imaging and present the basics and recent advances in Cardiac Imaging. The meeting is designed to provide practical information that can be incorporated into daily practice. Key topics include: •HRCT and Diffuse Lung Disease •Lung Cancer and Lung Cancer Screening •PET/CT for Lung Cancer •The Pulmonary Nodule and the Focal Ground-Glass Lesion •Pleural Disease •Airways Disease •Pulmonary Infections •Thoracic Intervention •Pulmonary Embolism •Aortic Disease •Coronary and Non-coronary applications of Cardiac CT •Non-ischemic Cardiomyopathies •Pulmonary Hypertension •Imaging of Cardiac Devices •Common Complications Post Cardiac Surgery

Target Audience
This course is designed for general radiologists, cardiac and thoracic radiologists, respirologists, cardiologists and interested residents, fellows and technologists.

Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to: - understand the role of imaging in the diagnosis and management of patients with lung nodules using both CT and PET/CT; - summarize the new TNM staging classification for lung cancer; - be familiar with the state-of-the-art imaging evaluation of pulmonary thromboembolism; - comprehend the current status of interventional procedures in the chest, including ablation therapy of lung tumours - recognize imaging clues in the work-up of patients with diffuse lung disease - describe current and emerging issues in infectious diseases of the chest -understand the role of CT in the evaluation of patients with cardiac and aortic disease. -be familiar with the imaging sequences used in cardiac MR. -recognize the imaging appearance of different implanted cardiac devices and post cardiac surgery complications. -summarize the new classification of pulmonary hypertension -describe the best acquisition and post-processing techniques in cardiac CT angiography.

Cancellation Terms
Written notification of cancellation must be received via email 30 or more days prior to the start of the course. Refunds are possible subject to a $50 cancellation fee ($25 for daily registrants). Cancellations made within 30 days are subect to a $100 fee ($50 for daily).
