2010-002-Body - 2010 Cross-Sectional Imaging of the Abdomen and Pelvis: An Update
Overview
This 2 l/2 day course will incorporate a series of lectures by internationally recognized faculty as well as case-based learning sessions. Program highlights include abdominal MDCT and MRI techniques, practical updates on common problems including oncology, hepatopancreaticobiliary disease, gatrointestinal disease and bowel obstruction, acture abdomen in the pregnant and non-pregnant patient, genitourinary and retroperitoneal disease and safe use of radiologic contrast agents in the renal-impaired patient.
Several French-language sessions will be featured throughout this course.

Target Audience
Radiologists interested in body imaging along with oncologists, referring physicians, residnents/fellows and techs involved in body imaging diagnoses and applications.

Objectives
Upon completion of this program, participants should be able to: -recognize the roles of CT and MRI for diagnosis and staging of gynecologic and colorectal malignancies -describe the complimentary role of US, CT and MRI to formulate an effective differential diagnosis for genitourinary and adrenal neoplasms as well as retroperitoneal processes -discuss specific cross-sectional imaging features of neoplastic and non-neoplastic hepatic, biliary and pancreatic conditions -diagnose causes of an acute abdomen in pregnant and non-pregnant patients -implement practical strategies for contrast use in renal-impaired populations
